How to create a Wall Decal

Often times when we want to make a wall decal the decal will surely be much larger than the cut mat for your silhouette. That is seriously not a problem. There are multiple ways to do this, one of which requires you to ditch your cut mat but today I will show you how to do it with the cut mat. Watch and learn!

First, choose your design and get it to your desired size. Once you have it sized all you will need to do is CUT it (using your knife tool) according to your cut mat. For mine I only had to make one cut because my design was 22 inches. How many times you will cut it depends on how big your design is.

Center your design to the cut mat so that you can see the dark middle measuring line. Once you have done that simply select the knife tool to the left and trace the middle measuring line.

Once you have cut the design you can now select your cursor tool and pull the design apart. Now you can cut. I think you can handle it from here, right!? I had two pieces so I had to cut them out separately.

You will need transfer tape for this, unless you live on the wild side and think you can get it done without. I certainly cannot. I also make my husband hang things because he says my eyes are crooked, hah! I probably should find some less expensive transfer tape but I generally don’t use it enough to buy any at all.

I’m now wishing I had somewhere else to put a decal! Give it a shot, you will be pleasantly surprised!
